Business Continuity Planning
A common trend in many businesses today is the adoption at the corporate level of Business Continuity Planning initiatives. While ownership of BCP initiatives normally falls outside of the responsibility of the IT department, there is usually a substantial focus on IT during any BCP project.
In most cases, the challenge from the IT perspective, is to identify the interface and overlap between the corporate Business Continuity Plan and the IT Service Continuity Management process. In some cases, the BCP will require additional items, service levels, or controls not addressed by ITSCM, in which case the challenge becomes how to best address and fill the gaps without re-inventing existing processes from scratch.
Key areas where MicroMenders can assist an organization faced with corporate-level BCP requirements include:
- Business Impact Analysis
- Contingency Planning
- Integration of Corporate BCP with IT DR Plans
